چکیده

In inverse problem of electrocardiography (ECG), electrical activity of the heart is estimated from body surface potential measurements. This electrical activity provides useful information about the state of the heart, thus it may help clinicians diagnose and treat heart diseases before they cause serious health problems. For practical application of the method, having fewer number of electrodes for data acquisition is an advantage. Additionally, inverse problem of ECG is ill-posed due to attenuation and smoothing within the body. Therefore, the solution of ECG inverse problem has to be regularized. In this study, we constrain ourselves to two Lanczosbidiagonalization-based inverse solution methods, namely, Lanczos least-squares QR (L-LSQR) factorization and Lanczos truncated total least-squares (L-TTLS). Tikhonov regularization is also implemented as a base for comparison for these methods. We use body surface measurements simulated using epicardial potentials measured from the surface of canine hearts. In these experiments, the hearts are stimulated *Corresponding author: Fourough Gharbalchi, Graduate Program of Biomedical Engineering, Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey E-mail: gharbalchi.fourough@metu. edu.tr Reviewing editors: Herman Mawengkang, The University of Sumatera Utara, Indonesia Gerhard-Wilhelm Weber, Middle East Technical University, Turkey Additional information is available at the end of the article

Examination of Quadrotor Inverse Simulation Problem Using Trust-Region Dogleg Solution Method

In this paper, the particular solution technique for inverse simulation applied to the quadrotor maneuvering flight is investigated. The ‎trust-region dogleg (DL) technique which is proposed alleviates the weakness of Newton’s method used for numerical differentiation of system states in the solution process. The proposed technique emphasizes global convergence solution to the inverse simulatio...

Tikhonov regularization of large symmetric problems

Many popular solution methods for large discrete ill-posed problems are based on Tikhonov regularization and compute a partial Lanczos bidiagonalization of the matrix. The computational effort required by these methods is not reduced significantly when the matrix of the discrete ill-posed problem, rather than being a general nonsymmetric matrix, is symmetric and possibly indefinite. This paper ...

Inverse subspace problems with applications

Given a square matrix A, the inverse subspace problem is concerned with determining a closest matrix to A with a prescribed invariant subspace. When A is Hermitian, the closest matrix may be required to be Hermitian. We measure distance in the Frobenius norm and discuss applications to Krylov subspace methods for the solution of large-scale linear systems of equations and eigenvalue problems as...

Adaptive Inverse Control of Flexible Link Robot Using ANFIS Based on Type-2 Fuzzy

This paper presents a novel adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system based on interval Gaussian type-2 fuzzy sets in the antecedent part and Gaussian type-1 fuzzy sets as coefficients of linear combination of input variables in the consequent part. The capability of the proposed ANFIS2 for function approximation and dynamical system identification is remarkable. The structure of ANFIS2 is very sim...

A Data Focusing method for Microwave Imaging of Extended Targets

This paper presents a data focusing method (DFM) to image extended targets using the multiple signal classification (MUSIC) algorithm. The restriction on the number of transmitter-receiver antennas in a microwave imaging system deteriorates profiling an extended target that comprises many point scatterers. Under such situation, the subspace-based linear inverse scattering methods, like the MUSI...
